Created in 1957, the original timepiece from the Piaget Altiplano collection was first introduced to the public's eye at the Basel watch fair. Powered by the ultra-flat 9P hand wound movement and engine, the case delved a 2mm in depth. This impressively elegant and slim case shaped a new generation of timepieces in its era. Over the many years, the Altiplano collection has retained its slender silhouette profile that largely appeals to the more contemporary watch collectors. Current models include the 60th anniversary edition powered by the 2.35mm 1200 Caliber that's decorated in 18K white gold case, and the 38mm hand wound 60th anniversary powered by the 2.2mm 340P Caliber - both were released in 2017.
